My poor baby is getting sold today. This is helping pay for the travel trailer. I also have to be a bit more careful since I have a baby coming. It is hard enough when one person depends on you but now there are two. I will still do crazy stuff in my life (read skydiving, SCUBA, motocross) but not on the street where I can’t control the majority of the variables. I am taking a huge loss on this bike but I have had safe fun on it. All gear is included in my sale in hopes that the young fellow buying it will also be safe.

The view was beautiful but the Mother’s Day luncheon was sub par. It was expensive and a buffet style. Even while buffet style, one could have one small helping. Taste was not that great either. Bad move but beautiful view.

I got *A* Tundra!

Author: Tom
05 3rd, 2008

While I was at HEB getting stuff for my wife, I found my truck!  Well, it is very close.  It is a double cab Tundra.  Mine is a CrewMax.  They are close.  Either way, it is a Limited and looks really cool.  I will have to paint it the same color as mine though! :)

I just got a call from Jeremy at San Marcos Toyota.  My truck will be in Houston on the 17th of May and be ready for me to pick up a couple of days after that!  Excellent!

So, by Christmas, my truck should be sufficiently broken in and ready to install the TRD supercharger that should be coming out this summer.  500+ HP would be great under my bottom! Read About it here!

img_0502.jpg  Well, I got the beast new in 1997.  It sold last night on Craigslist.org.  There were four requests in 33 minutes after posting the article.  It was driving away from my house in 2.5 hours after posting the article.  I could not be more amazed!  I’m actually gonna miss it… –Tom

Mullet  Don’t even ask why.  Please understand, this was in the 80’s and the hairstyle was completely legal.  That is about all that I can say about it…

After voting on March 4th, we took Tammy’s car in for a noise that was happening while taking turns at a low speed.  We were working in the customer lounge because they offer free Wi-Fi.  After about 30-45 minutes, the technician asked for the key to the wheel locks.  Doh!  We left it at home in the safe.  Bad idea anyway but we had to run back home and get the wheel key.  We gave them the car again and the key and went back to the customer lounge to work.  We were getting back in the car and Tammy noticed that the tire was messed up.  We went back in and talked to the service representative.  He looked at it and then spoke to the service manager.  He returned and wrote down the model number of the tire and said that they were going to get us a new one!  We almost felt bad about it.  It was just a scuff after all but if this happened on the paint, it would have been looked at as a more severe issue.  Either way, they handled the issue in the highest manner.  We could not be more impressed.  They will certainly be hearing from us when we are ready to buy another car.  http://www.sanmarcostoyota.com

New Kicks  I got new kicks today!  They were originally $70.00 but on sale for $49.99.  I rarely spend that much money on shoes anymore.  But lemme tell you, they are great.  Yea, I’m singing “My Adidas!” while running around the house.  They are very comfortable.  Homie is stylin’!

VoteTammy and I voted in the primaries today.  We were somewhat stressed because we left the house at almost 08:00.  We intended on being there at 07:00 but were working late last night.  We arrived at precinct 227 to do our part and vote.  As we walked in to the building, there was a pretty long line to the table in the front.  It was not too bad and we took our place in line.  A gentleman standing to the side was giving instructions.  He pointed to the long line and said that it was the Democrat line and pointed to the table and said “Here is where Republicans go.”  There were NO people in the Republican line for the primaries and a line of approximately 30-40 people in the Democrat line!  Needless to say, our time there was very short.  We ate breakfast at Whataburger.  As we were walking out, we look at the two newspaper machines.  The USA Today and the Austin American Statesman were the two on sale.  Both of them had a huge picture of Clinton on them.  Don’t people understand that she would not be the appropriate pick as a president?  I have no objections to a woman in office but she is not that woman.  Now, Tammy and I are working from the car dealership as her Scion has a noise in the front end.  I love free wireless!

Tammy has used Proactiv skin treatment for some time. It has been bleaching everything in sight. She recently switched to a regimin of Olay products. Wow! She has used it for two days and it is GREAT so far. First, it does not leave her face looking irritated and oily. Second, the smell! That stuff smells super! Rawr! I didn’t really notice that the Proactiv did not appeal in smell. Now when she comes to bed, the whole room smells great. I rub my face all over her to get the smell on me. I hope the Olay products work well for her as they have done a good job already in appearance and more important, the smell! Oh, no more bleached shirts for me either!–Tom B.

Saturday, we went to Georgetown to clean out the final items in the garage. We started about 09:30 and left there about 19:30. It was a long day. We were very busy and went to town a total of 4 times throughout the day. My truck’s power steering pump developed a leak and I had to keep it full to make it for the entire day. We ate at the new Catfish Parlor in on Williams Drive and it was great! Wonderful atmosphere and good food. The price was great too. It’s too bad we are leaving Georgetown.–Tom B.

We tried to vote in the primaries.

This afternoon, we tried to vote in the primaries. As we pulled up, Tammy and I noticed an extremely long line and it was dinner time. We ate at Garcia’s before going to wait in line. By the time we got in line, it was too late. The line was 2 hours long and it was shortly after 17:00. The office closed at 19:00. The employee advised that we just go Tuesday morning at 07:00 and vote in our selected county office. Oh well, we had good food. I decided to take video of the trip and this caused Tammy to rant about a couple of things.

Check out the video.

02 28th, 2008

The month is coming to an end.

We have had a great month. As a matter of fact, last year, February was a great month for us also. So, we have stripped all other holidays during the month of February and replaced it all with TNT Month! I see us continuing to celebrate this long in to the future - an entire month of Tammy and Tom! This is a very special time for us and I am certain that it will be wonderful for the upcoming TNT Months!

February = TNT Month! Mark it on your calendars!

If it’s not one thing, it’s another. I didn’t want to get up today as I woke up at 03:30 because the dogs had to go out. I could not get back to sleep for about an hour. Tammy came in the bedroom to wake me up at 07:15 and did not let the dogs in the bedroom. As we opened the bedroom door after I woke up and there was a mess! Apparently, Wikki found a potpourri thingy and made a mess all over. About 15 minutes later, she vomited. I mentioned to Tammy that I hope it is not toxic. She immediately searched the web and found that it is bad for them and they recommended a bit of milk to reduce the damage to her esophagus. It seems that liquid potpourri is worse than the leafy stuff that she had. She has vomited a couple more times and we are keeping an eye on her. Poor little Wikki.

Trying something new.

MJicon.png I was perusing my RSS feeds and came across a little piece of software called MacJournal and I am trying it out. It is a journaling software that supports blogging, podcasting and other items. I just installed it and am testing it now. Perhaps I can actually keep up with blogging better. The software allows you to record audio and video directly from the application. I am in the demo period but seems very powerful and easy to use. I’ll try and keep you updated with how I like the software. If I like it, obviously, I will be purchasing it. So far, so good.

Sometimes, I would like to do something and my wife is not around to get her input. I quickly whip out my favorite saying: “It is easier to ask forgiveness than it is to get permission.” Well, it figures, a woman made up that saying. As a matter of fact, she is famous in the computer industry. Her name is Grace Hopper and she found the first computer bug.

You can’t know everything. Sometimes I find that hard to accept but it is true. I have been working with computers since I was 9 years old. I have seen some really amazing things in my life pertaining to technology. It is great seeing the advances and improvements and I am thankful that I am a part of it.

Last night, I did something for the first time. It was simple but I have just never took part in it. Tammy and I just bought new living room furniture and it will be delivered Friday. We discussed what to do with the old furniture and decided to put it up on Craigslist.org. We have never posted on Craigslist so it was all new to us. Initially, we tried the free posting. We took our time and made a nice ad of the furniture with measurements. We included pictures to fully represent our sale. We priced our current furniture to sell quickly. After completing all of the work to get it looking nice, we were instructed that an email would be sent with confirmation and editing instructions. That email never came. We then signed up for an account. This was a simple process and took no time. We took our ad and tried to re-post the furniture. As a registered (confirmed) user, it would not require the silly email intervention. A web page came up telling us that this item has already been submitted and cannot go up again as users don’t like seeing double ads. What?!?! This was on a Friday night. We figured that the weekend would be the optimal time to post furniture as people would have time to pick it up. Nothing happened the entire weekend. We tried to post it again last night. It worked! Our ad was live at approximately 10:20pm. By ~11:00pm, we had someone that said that they wanted it all! In fourty minutes, it was all “sold”. We emailed back and fourth and had one phone conversation. By 11:18, everything was arranged, directions were given and they will be here THIS AFTERNOON! Again, it was priced to sell and is pretty good stuff. But this just amazes me as it worked so flawlessly.

I continue to learn new thing all of the time. Even simple things make me happy. Especially when they work so well.
