We are in Mesa Verde Resturant in the airport. This is our final Colorado meal. Our drive was a long one. We left the hotel at 09:00 and dropped the car off 11:40. The six or so miles on HWY 6 was really bad! Tammy did a great job with the snow. We had to stop in the middle of the road because we could not see at all. The temperature was 19 deg. then went to 10 deg! Her driving in the whole mess was excellent. Again, there is nothing that is too challenging for her. Ahhh. We just got our beer. It is a local beer called Boulder Beer. Pretty good stuff. We also ordered chips and salsa before the flight. Oooh. The chips have arrived…

Another fine day! We followed our routine again today. Wake up early. Get the fine semi-continental breakfast and then get ready. Once ready, we headed over to the ski area and had our breakfast burrito and put on our gear. Our plan for the day? Stay in the training area and practice all day. That is exactly what we did. Our confidence went up tremendously! We practiced all of the techniques learned in our class. By the end of the day, we both felt like we could tackle something more challenging. As we were sipping hot chocolate after a long day, Tammy was looking at the trail map with longing eyes. I could tell that she really wanted to give the trails another shot. We agreed that we would just have to do it again soon. We have already turned in our rental gear and are showering to head over to Goat. We also have to pack as we are leaving tomorrow… :(

Oh! Real quick: It snowed ALL DAY! Was really nice and we have pictures and more film!

After skiing, Tammy and I made it to Goat for beer and grub. Yea… We ate Reuben’s balls again. We came a long way to meet some super nice people from the Houston area. We drank and BSed all evening. They were a really nice pair of couples. I went to the bar to close my tab and damned if they didn’t pay our bill too! Geez guys! THANKS! They have our contact information. It would be nice to hear from them again. What a great time Tammy and I are having. It seems that everything is going our way

Tammy and I skied this evening. We chose a really long green (easy) trail. It was called Schoolmarm. We were told that the trail was 3 miles long. The whole time, I told Tammy that it was going to be really easy. We took this enclosed lift up the mountain. The thing smelled like pot. Yuk! We made it to the top and exited really mellow… We found Schoolmarm. It was in no way our skill level! Way too much for us. We made it safely but have some REALLY cool action video as I wore my helmet camera! We then went to eat at Goat. That is going to be in another blog post.

Wow! Tammy is a machine! We decided to have a nice breakfast this morning. We went to a pretty cool place but by the tyme we got there, it was lunch time! We both had really fanch onion rings and Reuben Sandwiches. Delicious! We then mosied over to the Adventure Station and rented skates. The laces were at least a mile long! We both took our time and made it safely to the lake. We then took off like we have been doing it forever! She is so much fun. There are no limits to what she can do. Of course she spotted a chocolate place that was “skater friendly”! We had chocolate covered strawberries, cherries and caramel. Along with all of the health food, we had hot chocolate to drink too. We skated a while more and now we are at the hotel getting our skis. Its really cool, Ziggy, our ski instructor, has already emailed us. Really a cool guy! Off to skiing!

Tammy and I are at the Goat again. We are having a beer and some food. We just finished ski school. It was fabulous! No injuries (for us). The instructor kept telling us that we are the best first timer students in his 17 years! This was said many times. We did great. Both of us are sore and pooped. The excitement and sense of accomplishment between us is very noticable. We are having a BLAST! We ROCK!

At the HOTEL.

Yea, I had three beers with dinner. We came to the hotel and of course I slept on the way. I got in the car and VOILIA, I’m there. The hotel is pretty nice so far. Checkin was fast. The rules about the hot tub are bogus! No alcohol or glass… Hours are from 16:00 - 22:00… Stinks a bit there. Otherwise? Cool so far. We are both pooped. Still have stuff to do. Have to get skis and get luggage up to the room. All is great so far.

Ok, folks. I would like to introduce Tammy Braselton! We are hanging out after completing everything. Grabbing a beer and some grub at Jake’s Dive Bar in Breckenridge. The area here is so cool. It is done up like older times but it seems to be all new construction. I am in a wonderful place with a beautiful young lady that I can now call my wife. I can’t wait to return and put up all of the pictures!

We are on our way to Sapphire Point now. We are at about exit 260 and our next exit is at number 216. Then just a few small roads and we are there! Tammy just applied her makeup and looks beautiful. She is fortunate that she does not need that much. We are both very excited even though we have been up and going more than 12 hours already. The snow in the mountains is beautiful. We are just now entering them and it is stunning. I have to get the camera!!!

Well, we are in Colorado. We are eating at a fine resturant called McDonalds! It is 10:00 here. Our flight was great. There was only one mixup with the rental car insurance. For the most part, everything is just great! We are still trekking along to get to Sapphire Point! Next stop is Wal-Mart…
