Tomorrow is our first appointment! I can’t wait to see the
ultrasound. Tammy convinced me to join the forums that she is on
(whattoexpect.com). It is pretty cool. I get to learn all about what
women are thinking and feeling during their pregnancy. It is all
timed right. For example, the group that we are with are all having
babies in December 2008. This way, we can discuss all of the things
that we are going through. It is really cool. I learn every day.

Well, I like to get ahead of things (sometimes). I was going to go
ahead and set up email addresses for all of the kid names that we
picked out. Then any one of them would be covered. I started to
think about it and it would be silly if we had [kidname] @
tammyandtom.com. That would sound ridiculous. So… I started
thinking. I registered another domain name to get their email
addresses correct starting from day one.

New domain name is TheBraseltons.com !

So, they will have email from day 1 (I say ‘they’ because I would like
more than one).

I just got a call from Jeremy at San Marcos Toyota.  My truck will be in Houston on the 17th of May and be ready for me to pick up a couple of days after that!  Excellent!

I’ll inhale!

A coworker of mine said that childbirth/having a kid is the best
“high” that I will ever have. If that is true, I’ll make sure and
inhale!

Got our first cards!

We got our first cards this weekend. I went to check the mail
Saturday and we received cards from both Tammy’s parents and my
parents. They congratulated us on our conception! That’s cool!

We had a really nice weekend with Tammy’s parents. We watched UFC
fights Saturday night. Sunday, we ate at Catfish Parlour and watched
a Round Rock Express baseball game. A guy at the game gave us free
tickets! Can’t beat that price!

Tammy is still pregnant. She is going through the normal baby stuff
so far. Our first appointment is still set for the 30th. I can’t
wait to see the sonogram!

I’m a plural now!

I got to work this morning and Tom popped on IM and said ‘Glad you guys made it!’ and I realized, I’m a plural now!  That’s pretty cool!

I told my manager this morning that we’re expecting.  He seemed genuinely excited for me.  He’s a great manager.  Never too ‘in your business’, but there if you need him.  Sadly though, I am falling behind on some work.  I’m either too tired or not very focused the last few days – can’t imagine why Haha!  I’ll get back in the groove soon.

Tammy and I were talking about her home pregnancy tests. I said that
we have 7 positives and 0 negatives - Positives are winning. She said
that negatives will never even show up on the board, it’s positives
all of the way. She then says: ‘I have enough HCG in me to turn a
plain piece of paper positive!’

I laughed my fanny off!

She is just addicted to it.  She already got her results from her first blood tests.  On Friday, the 11th of April, her HCG level was 156 and her Progesterone level was 15.1.  I really don’t understand all of that mumbo jumbo but the rules are like this: “Progesterone levels also can have quite a variance at this stage of pregnancy. They can range from 9-47ng/ml in the first trimester, with an average of 12-20ng/ml in the first 5-6 weeks of pregnancy.”

All of that is goodness so far.  Our first appointment is on the 20th of April.  Her pregnancy test had an even darker line today than the earlier ones.  That is interesting to note.  More pregnant = darker.

We still don’t really “feel” pregnant.  Her friends advise her that this happens when she first feels the baby kick.  I can’t wait until the 30th to hear the first heartbeat.  Hopefully I can hear it.  I’m not a professional.

I gave Tammy and the up-coming baby a new nick name today.  Fact number one: She has been really tired already.  Number two: We don’t know the gender yet.  Number three: I am a goofball and like the movie Cars.  So, I named Tammy - Mack.  I named the baby Lightning McQueen (since he parks inside of Mack)!  Now she can run by and thrust her hips while yelling “CA-CHOW”!  As if she were reflecting the lightning bolt across the room.  I also made fun of her snoring.  If you can recall in the movie, his snore while driving down the road is just TOO FUNNY.  Sccccoooohhhhh-buhuhhhuhhhauahaauahahhhhauhhhha!!!  HAHA!

I have configured email input for the blog so I can easily do it from
my phone or just a quick email from work. The posts will go to the
baby category as that will be the majority of blogging for some time.

So, by Christmas, my truck should be sufficiently broken in and ready to install the TRD supercharger that should be coming out this summer.  500+ HP would be great under my bottom! Read About it here!

Here is the proof!  After 14 months of trying!  We did it!  Due date is 12/18/08.  We are very happy and everything is lining up right on time.  By the way, the bottom picture is when she told me and I was still in shock!
